We Strengthen Our Families by Inviting the Spirit of the Lord into Our Homes "Every family can be strengthened in one way or another if the Spirit of the Lord is brought into our homes and we teach by His example."

Quote by E. Dallin H. Oaks

My faithful widowed mother had no confusion about the eternal nature of the family relationship. She always honored the position of our faithful deceased father. She made him a presence in our home. She spoke of the eternal duration of their temple marriage and of our destiny to be together as a family in the next life. She often reminded us of what our father would like us to do so we could qualify for the Savior's promise that we could be a family forever. She never referred to herself as a widow, and it never occurred to me that she was. To me, as a boy growing up, she wasn't a widow. She had a husband and we had a father. He was just away for awhile.

Another quote I needed, Sister Becerra gave me this quote, it is exactly how I feel about my husband, he is just gone for awhile. I'm so very thankful for all the support I have received from my family and friends.

Family Home Evening

Tonight we had Family Home Evening. It was sad for me not to have Joe here, but we need to caring on Joe would want us too. Savannah gave us the lesson on being Truthful, we sang I Love to see the Temple, we had Hostees Cupcakes for a treat and then we wrote in our Daddy Journals. Books the Stohel's gave the kids to write there memories about Daddy, what a great idea. I'm very thankful for my Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. The comfort I feel daily is amazing. Without the Spirit I would be lost, I miss my Buba and best friend so much is quite unbearable, but through the Savior all things are possible. I'm very thankful for the Gospel, knowing that I will be with Joe again.

Daddy and the babies

The kids were very lucky to spend quality time with daddy, one day I surprised Joe and brought the kids up to see Joe. Joe went in for a procedure I ran home got the kids so when he came out they were waiting for him in the room. Joe got out of the elevator and could see Jacob wheeling around on his Heely's, he told the nurse hurry my babies are here.

Just Joe and I

Joe and I spent many hours in the hospital just talking, reading and just spending time together. Joe would always want me to get into the bed with him. This is Joe trying to get a picture of us. I will miss laying next to the best guy in the world

Joe trying to get STRONG!!!

Joe spend time on almost every floor of the hospital. He enjoyed getting out of bed and taking a few laps of the hospital. What a trooper!
